Lauren and Christian have stuck it out through a week of wild weather and evacuations here on the Outer Banks as a result of Hurrricane Earl passing just offshore. It’s still a little windy this morning but it looks it’s all clear skies for their wedding tomorrow. Check out their interview on the CBS News Early Show this morning.

Laos
March 2010
From the Chinese city of Kunming in Yunnan Province a 32 hour bus ride took us across the desolate border between China and Laos and over the potholed dirt roads of northern Laos to historic Luang Prabang, on the banks of the Mekong River. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the city is a blend of Lao and French provincial architecture where safron robed monks wander through the steamy streets and centuries old monasteries.

March 2010
Every year Lisa and I try to sneak away for at least one great international trip. Our most recent trip in March 2010 took us to Southern China with stops in amazing cities like Hong Kong and Guangzhou followed by almost never-ending bus and train rides to the beautiful scenery and minority peoples of Guangxi and Yunnan Province. There are many more great images on the way, look for more blog posts and updates to our travel page soon.
